The novice student would have around 5-10 hours of previous tuition with a driving instructor. The novice student will be practising car control, clutch steering, and moving off and stopping smoothly on hills, angle starts, the M.S.P.S.L. routine would be known and used. You would have practised entering and exiting junctions and roundabouts.
The novice course is a 28 hour course and is usually taken over 7 days (or as arranged to suit pupil). The practical driving test is arranged for the final day of the course.
